shann - the creative

Hi, I'm Shann - short for Shannon, but don't call me that or I will awkwardly correct you. Also for some reason, I am very particular about it being spelt with two n's but that's a story for another day.

For as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a #girlboss. Throughout school I tried turning almost every passion I had into a business. It was also inevitable that whatever business I ended up in, it was going to be something creative. The creative side of my brain is like a hamster running on a wheel - I'm surprised I get any sleep at night tbh.

My events journey started in high school when I organised the Year 12 Formal, from there I was offered an internship at the venue where it took place. During my studies I had many amazing opportunities working within the industry and in recent years I was employed at Australia's No.1 Wedding Directory whilst building my business on the side.

I officially registered Events by Shann in 2018 and then committed to the business full time in July 2019. Now I am living out my passion of creating beautiful weddings and events and being the most bad ass #girlboss I can be, all thanks to those who support Events by Shann.

My role within Events by Shann includes:

• Trying to understand Shann's creative vision and building items accordingly

• Delivering all of your Fresh & Dried Floral orders

• Lifting heavy things

• Reaching heights that Shann cannot (she's 5'3)

• Taking photos & videos #husbandsofinstagram

• Listening to instructions & never making suggestions, especially when it involves styling

• Purchasing Shann anything that says #girlboss on it

In all seriousness, there is no role more important than my role as a supportive husband and doing anything I can to help her dream become a reality!

Bonus is we have fun while doing it & I get to spend time with my wife when she works weekends.
